ATV Discovery Adventure – Rainforest, Volcano & Maleku Culture

The Discovery Adventure is the most complete ATV tour in La Fortuna — a 3-hour guided ride that goes well beyond the standard rainforest loop and reaches the panoramic viewpoint of the Arenal Volcano Eco Park, the only ATV route with that access. You start at the Outback Adventures base with a full technique and safety briefing on modern automatic-transmission quads suitable for riders of any experience level, then head out through the Arenal Volcano Lava Trails, cross secondary rainforest paths, ford shallow rivers and climb to the volcano viewpoint for one of the classic photo stops of the region. The route also includes a respectful cultural visit to the Maleku Indigenous Village, where a community member introduces you to their language, medicinal plant knowledge and traditional crafts. The pace is intentionally set for observation, not racing — you have real time to spot toucans, coatis, howler monkeys and, in wetter months, sloths in the taller trees. Ages 5 and up are welcome as passengers; drivers require a valid license. Includes helmet, goggles, gloves and professional guide.
