The experience
Private Full-Day Wildlife Experience in La Fortuna
A fully private, curated full-day wildlife immersion in La Fortuna, engineered to stack the region's highest-yield ecosystems into a single day and maximize sightings of sloths, birds, monkeys, reptiles, amphibians and nocturnal species. You travel in a private vehicle with a dedicated bilingual naturalist guide and a professional spotting scope, moving between three complementary habitats: Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges (primary rainforest canopy walk with 16 bridges — ideal for toucans, motmots, sloths and eyelash pit vipers), the Bogarín Trail (world-famous for consistent close-up sloth encounters, plus rufous motmots, trogons, boat-billed herons and pygmy kingfishers), and after a traditional Costa Rican lunch, the twilight-into-night program at Papa's Place, one of the densest frog and reptile hotspots near the volcano. Two schedules are available: an early-bird split day (dawn birding + evening night walk with a rest in your hotel between blocks) or a continuous mid-morning to night option. Because the tour is 100% private, the pace is set by your group — no rushed shared-group schedules, plenty of time for photography, and full flexibility to linger at any subject. Included: All park entrances, guide, scope, lunch and drinking water. Transport is not included — we quote it separately by hotel and zone. The single best option for travelers with one day in La Fortuna who care about wildlife above everything else.
