This is the shared departure of 🌋 Mistico Bridges + Arenal 1968 – Volcano & Rainforest Combo: a small group of no more than 15 travelers, on a fixed schedule, at a per-person rate. You share a VIVO naturalist guide with other travelers looking for the same thing you are — real wildlife, good light and an honest explanation of what you are seeing. The itinerary, the certified guide and the safety standards are identical to our private expedition; what changes is that the departure time is set and the group sets the pace. Transport is never shared: if you add it, it is private door-to-door for your party only.

A half-to-full-day combo built for travelers who want the two most photogenic landscapes of the Arenal region in one outing, at a relaxed pace and with private naturalist guiding. You start at Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park, the most iconic canopy walk in Costa Rica: 3.2 km of trails through primary rainforest with 16 bridges — six of them suspension bridges rising up to 55 meters above the forest floor — that put you eye-level with the mid- and upper canopy. Expect keel-billed toucans, chestnut-mandibled toucans, blue-crowned motmots, Montezuma oropendolas, and reliable chances of brown-throated three-toed sloths, howler and spider monkeys, and eyelash pit vipers coiled in bromeliads. After a mid-day break, you continue to the Arenal 1968 Trails, a private reserve bordering Arenal Volcano National Park that preserves the actual lava flow from the 1968 eruption. The trail crosses cooled lava fields blanketed in pioneer vegetation, walks through regenerated primary forest, and climbs to a panoramic viewpoint of Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal — one of the most complete geological and ecological stories you can walk in a single afternoon. Both park tickets and a bilingual naturalist guide are included. Transport is not included — we quote it separately by hotel and zone. The pace is comfortable for families, seniors and photographers.
