Absolutely. Rain in La Fortuna is predictable — mornings are usually clear, showers arrive between 1pm and 5pm, and the forest is at its most vibrant. Wildlife is more active, hot springs feel amazing, and rates drop 20–40%.
What tours still run when it rains?+
Almost all of them. Hanging bridges, waterfall visits, night tours, hot springs, chocolate tours and coffee tours run rain or shine. Only rafting and horseback rides get rescheduled after heavy afternoon storms.
How should I plan a rainy-day itinerary?+
Do outdoor adventure early (7–11am), lunch and rest during the peak downpour (12–3pm), and end with hot springs or a night tour — the rain enhances frog and insect activity, making our macro photography and night walks even better.
Do you cancel tours if it rains?+
No — rain does not cancel tours. Only extreme weather (lightning storms, road closures) triggers reschedules or full refunds. We provide rain ponchos for every tour and adjust pace so you stay comfortable.
What should I pack for the rainy season?+
Quick-dry clothing, waterproof shoes or sport sandals, a light rain jacket, dry bag for phone/camera, and mosquito repellent. We provide rubber boots for muddy trails and ponchos on all tours.
